The Uptime Blog Update: Putting e-Business to Work

Companies that manufacture complex equipment are starting to invest in e-business solutions to help sell aftermarket parts. Typically these systems are based on e-commerce products from Oracle, SAP or IBM. When linked to ERP, CRM and other supply chain systems, these products can significantly improve order management and order processing. They can check a customer’s credit, verify inventory, apply customer discounts, track order status and payment, and so on—all of which are important elements of the customer’s experience.

Yet while these e-commerce products decrease order processing costs, our experience indicates that they don’t really increase revenues. Why not?  One reason may be that, when it comes to selling parts online, ordering a part is not the same as selecting a part...

Enigma CEO to Speak at MRO Americas Conference

Enigma will be sharing a booth with Oracle at next month's MRO Americas conference, to demonstrate Enigma's integration with the Oracle cMRO solution.

When: April 21-23
Where:  Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center, Grapevine/Dallas, TX

In addition, Enigma CEO Jonathan Yaron will be a speaker on a panel discussion called "Regulatory Compliance in the Digital Age":

Most FAA rules and regulations were written in expectation of a paper environment. Yet, in an era of e-documentation, e-reporting, laptops, PDAs, Internet, etc., technology has overtaken the paper trail. How do airlines and MRO operators continue to move to an electronic environment while at the same time satisfying the FAA and complying with the FARs? What are the issues and concerns, and what can all parties do to assure compliance while still migrating to digital systems? Furthermore, does the new electronic technology really cost less and speed things up? Come hear what the experts have to say about these and other digital/regulatory topics.

  • Moderator: Mark Yerger, VP, Engineering, Federal Express
  • Carol Giles, Manager, Aircraft Maintenance Division, FAA
  • Jonathan Yaron, President and CEO, Enigma, Inc.
