Oracle & Enigma Bring Automation to the Aftermarket: White Paper
A new joint offering from Oracle and Enigma is transforming aftermarket service by integrating parts and service information with advanced purchasing and inventory solutions. Combining Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle AutoVue with Enigma 3C® InService EPC, the joint solution represents the most direct and immediate opportunity to achieve the goals of equipment manufacturers (OEMs), dealer/distributors, and owner/operators.
The Oracle customer management and eCommerce storefront delivers efficient parts and inventory operations, AutoVue displays a faithful visual representation of parts and equipment, and Enigma ensures accurate part selections, faster purchase processes and higher quality service.
By integrating Oracle’s E-Business Suite with Enigma InService EPC, manufacturers can quickly deploy an intelligent parts and service storefront that reduces operational costs, increases aftermarket parts purchases, and delivers greater customer satisfaction and improved branding. Benefits from the deployment of the Oracle-Enigma solution are realized throughout the aftermarket support chain including OEMs, dealer/distributors, engineering/planning, maintenance facility management and field technicians.

Given that parts and service generates significant profits for most OEMs, and their dealers, Blumberg's assertion that aftermarket competition is good for OEMs begs the question, "How so?" How is competition good for an OEM? It makes no sense.
