Using Excel to Help Build Parts and Service Catalogs
Gathering and organizing service and parts data is the biggest challenge to creating and updating an electronic parts catalog (EPC). The problem is two-fold: 1) product information is stored in multiple data formats and 2) product information is stored in multiple databases/business systems (e.g. CMS, ERP, and PLM).
Fortunately, Enigma InService EPC uses Microsoft Excel to simplify the process of loading this service and parts information into an online/offline parts catalog.

Validating the Value of the Aftermarket Service Center
All too often, service organizations are viewed as cost centers rather than revenue streams. This is a sorry misperception. Gartner Case Study – Korean Air Succeeds with Enterprise IT Rollout
Gartner recently published a case study about the experience of Korean Air (KAL) when overhauling their enterprise IT systems, “Benefits and Pitfalls of Seeking Faster Financial Close and Better Management Information.”

Reducing Content Duplication in Aviation Maintenance
Service and parts documents can be hundreds of megabytes in size, so it is important to avoid duplicating common data across publications.
Content duplication increases time, cost and likelihood of errors in three areas:
* Updating (and verifying) multiple publications when common documents are revised
* Synchronizing multiple databases and business systems (planning, inventory and logistics) when common documents are changed
* Excessive storage space and slower processing times resulting from content duplication.
Enigma InService MRO solves these problems by sharing common documents between multiple publications.
