Business Development

Working on the Business Development team at Enigma, you will be responsible for identifying and forging new client relationships with the world’s preeminent companies and organizations. In this dynamic role, you will be opening up high-stakes dialogues with Fortune 500 executives and cultivating trusted relationships with potential buyers among senior technology and business leaders. You will identify opportunities and present proposals for how Enigma’s unique data and technology offerings can address the most pressing challenges and deliver the greatest value to our clients. You will partner with your Enigma colleagues in Product, Engineering and Legal to devise oftentimes complex solution engagements, and you will be responsible for structuring and negotiating these deals directly with clients to fruition. Ultimately your success will be measured by your ability to identify, lead, and close deals ranging in scale from proofs of concept to large and complex engagements that will grow into Enigma’s next multi-million dollar business vertical.

You are adept at putting yourself in the shoes of the buyer and the end­-user, and understand how to execute on proposal development, negotiation strategy, and deal economics. You have extremely high attention to detail, and are creative, curious and have project management skills to get things done. You are a great listener, communicator and teammate. You are high energy and take pride in your craft.

The ideal candidate:


-Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus

-5+ years of work experience, with past success in sales or business development, ideally in a startup, consulting, and/or growth-stage company

-Prior experience closing large (high six and seven-figures) and complex sales or strategic partnerships, ideally with Fortune 500 companies

-Strong understanding of and passion for how enterprises can use data to operate more intelligently and efficiently, with significant technical acumen

-Experience selling complex products / enterprise software

-Experience with the data operations of companies in financial services, life sciences, manufacturing, insurance are a major plus

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Self­-starter with ability to multi­task and manage time effectively under tight deadlines

-True entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate successfully in a growth­ company environment

-Experience working directly with C­-level executives, Heads of Business Units in Fortune 500 organizations.
