The Government Archive indexes billions of records across thousands of U.S. official source databases and grows daily as new agencies and filings come online. We curate documentation for over 1,000 featured datasets here, with new ones added continuously. The full archive is far larger than what we can showcase. For the visuals, we designed a base style and a generative prompt process that takes in the metadata of each source, its column structure, jurisdictional scope, record characteristics, and sample data, to produce a unique signature image per dataset.
